In February 2006, a crossover crew of skiers and snowboarders form Austria came together to explore a new hotspot for freeriding: The Carpats, a mountain range with spectacular peaks reaching as high as 2.500 meters.

The team of riders included Mitch Tölderer, Bibi Pekarek and Flo Örley on snowboards, plus Flox Edenberger, Flo Köfer and me on skis.

The action was captured on film by Seppi Dabringer and Stoni and cut into a short movie, THE PREPARATION, which will be distributed in Europe.

Greenland is actually quite a misleading name. As far as the eye can see, snow, ice, water and granite greet you here. It is a hard country, and utterly fascinating.

Based in the south-west in Maniitsoq, we spent 2 weeks documenting the skiing and lifestyle with photo and film (shout outs to Dan from Rage Films and photographer extraordinaire Oskar Enander). The riders included Patrik Leidstedt, Maxime Revilloud, Stephan Drake, and me.

Special thanks go to Mammut who made it possible for me to experice such a wonderful country, thank you team!

Two skiers, Lorraine Huber and Martin "Mcfly" Winkler, meet up with the Speedflyer Mike Schönherr in a place where they find themselves completely alone and isolated from the rest of the world. The "Forno" glacier in winter. Bergell, heavy with snow. Fantastic images of skiing and flying emerge. And watching the decent from the 3366 meter Cima di Rosso will leave you feeling deeply impressed and quite stunned.
